Best of the bunch!
My painting box. From the last century!
Artist's quality.
Waiting for a photo-shoot!

Listed more watercolour paintings (on Etsy) today. Now time for a coffee and a piece of lemon drizzle! Nom- nee - nom! Then go for a walk, before the muddy work starts - making new moulds so it's going to be fun!

My Unique, Ceramic Seahorses

Porcelain Seahorse £20.00

Porcelain Seahorse Brooch, £20.00

Already selling like hot cakes at Potters, my unique, ceramic seahorses have now been making their Pinterest appearances!

Rightly so, 'cos they are unique, highly detailed, a joy to wear, made entirely by hand, by me from scratch. Thank you all kind people who have pinned my stuff on their Pinterest.

Here's how I make them:

1.) I make 3 moulds for them, to get the bas-relief effect. The mould making takes 2-3 days as the clay needs to dry and bisque fired in the kiln!

2.) When the "negative" mould is ready, I press porcelain clay into bisque mould, take them out of the mould and put holes (if it's a pendant).

3.) Then I air dry the pieces which takes 2-3 days, and fettle all the rough edges by holding the pieces very gently as the dry clay is very crumbly! Any uneven (not sharp) edges you see in photos here are left so for artistic effect. The back of the pieces are smooth.

4.) Then I bisque fire them in the kiln.

5.) I put oxides on cooled down, bisque fired pieces and fire them the second time, to 1240 centigrade (for the porcelain). Oxides are burnt during the kiln firing and won't come off or smudge on your clothes.

6.) The finishing touch is a silver plated wire through the hole for the chain which I attached by hand.

Finally I attach the 16in. long silvertone snake chain and put the little magical seahorse in its box!

For all that work, and a porcelain (NOT Fimo, or plastic clay) one of a kind statement piece £20.00? May be I should increase the price it a bit more!

Spring Dessert

Hello, after a few day's absence! I have been very busy, as usual. Sipping my tea and browsing the Pinterest, I came across this fab spring dessert idea! Couldn't help sharing it with you... Already tweed it. Isn't it lush? Themed with my ACEO flower pots.

I have to admit (ashamed-ly) that I can loose myself in Pinterest... That's why I deleted my account on it. It is just too much to take on board: I already spend/loose too much time online promoting my ceramics, and recently my paintings and I honestly need more time making things! I have been very good recently and kept to my strict, daily "DO THESE" list!

I shall definitely try this dessert idea, so watch this space for my photos of it!

Let me know how yours goes!
